The Secret Garden 2020 Movie
The Secret Garden is a British fantasy drama movie coming out in 2020. It is based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's 1911 book of the same name. It is the fourth movie version of the book. This movie stars Dixie Egerickx, Colin Firth, and Julie Walters. It was directed by Marc Munden and produced by David Heyman. The story takes place in England in 1947 and is about an orphan girl who is sent to live with her uncle and finds a witchy garden on his estate.
The girl Mary, who doesn't have any parents, moves in with her uncle in Yorkshire. Soon, she finds a fantasy world hidden in the yard of the manor.

Mary Lennox is found alone in her home in British India in 1947. Her parents had died of cholera, and she had been forgotten during the chaos of Partition. Mary is sent to England to live with her uncle Lord Archibald Craven at his home in Misselthwaite. As a child in the Raj, she had to hold back her feelings, which made her a mean and unpleasant young girl.
When she gets there, she meets Mrs. Medlock, Lord Craven's housekeeper and servant who is strict and strong. Mary is told not to look around the house and has to stay in her room at night. There, she meets Martha, a helper who doesn't like what she wants.
Mary is allowed to leave the house and explore the nearby land and woods. She finds a stray dog and names her Jemima. Later that night, she hears small screams and wails coming from the hallways and turns around to see Colin Craven, Lord Craven's sick son.
Mary meets Lord Craven in his study the next day. He tells her not to make any trouble. Mary keeps looking around and follows Jemima into the fog. She finds Jemima with the dog whose leg is stuck in a trap when she gets there. She helps Jemima get out of the trap, but the dog runs off. Mary goes after him, climbs a wall, and then falls into the secret garden.
After that, a Robin leads Mary to a stone figure in the garden that holds the key to the garden. As Mrs. Medlock calls for her, she leaves the yard. When Mary goes back to the house, she meets Colin again. He tells her that he has a hunchback and can't walk. Colin is not interested when she talks about the garden on the farm. Later, she looks around and finds a room with pictures of both Mary's mother and Grace Craven. She takes a pearl necklace as a gift.
The next day, Mary goes back to the yard to find Dickon. Dickon offers to help Jemima get better. In the next room, Mary brings Colin in his wheelchair for the first time to see the pictures and clothes of his mother. Mary and Dickon come up with a plan to bring Colin to the yard so that he can get better. But when they get back, Mrs. Medlock confronts Mary for stealing the pearl necklace, and as punishment she is sent to a boarding school. After that, Mary finds letters from her mom and aunt in a rocking horse while she is locked in her room. Colin agrees to read them, and the three of them keep reading letters in the yard.
While lighting a candle, Lord Craven, who is sad and distracted, sets the desk on fire. Collins, Mary, and Dickon are in the yard the next morning when they see black smoke coming from the house. Colin talks Mary and Dickon into going to see what's going on. When Mary goes into the house that is on fire, she sees Lord Craven desperately searching for his son in the fire. She tries in vain to get him to leave because his son is safe outside, but he won't. It's not until the fire department comes that the ghost of his wife leads them safely out of the building. Lord Craven, Mrs. Medlock, Mary, Dickon, and Colin are all in the secret garden. They are all full of worry. Lord Craven is amazed by how mobile his son is as they get back together.
At the end of the movie, Lord Craven has rebuilt the estate and Mary, Dickon, and Colin are having fun in The secret garden.
