Focus is an American crime comedy-drama movie released in 2015. It stars Will Smith and Margot Robbie and was written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. The story is about a con artist who takes in a would-be femme fatale and trains her to be one.
Nicky, a skilled con artist, falls in love with Jess, one of his students, but they break up soon after. After many years, she comes back as a femme fatale to ruin his plans.

Focus Movie: Plot and Sypnosis
Nicky Spurgeon, an experienced con artist, meets Jess Barrett, a new con artist. Barrett tries to charm Spurgeon and con him by saying she has a jealous husband. Nicky tells them the hard way that they should never lose focus when bad things happen. He follows Jess and talks her into getting drinks. Nicky talks about how his dad, Bucky, shot his grandfather during a fight. He explains the "Toledo Panic Button" strategy, in which you shoot your partner to show your loyalty.
Nicky agrees to take Jess under his wing when she follows him to New Orleans, where she also meets Nicky's group, which includes Farhad and Horst. Nicky and Jess start dating while picking pockets as a test. This bothers Nicky because his father told him not to get emotionally involved with coworkers. Nicky and gambler Liyuan Tse get into a series of increasingly risky bets at a made-up Super Bowl XVII. Eventually, Nicky loses all the money that the crew has won.
Nicky gets it back by telling Tse to pick any player on or off the pitch. He then asks Jess to guess what player was picked. When Jess looks over at the pitch, she sees Farhad wearing shirt number 55 and knows it's another scam. They get Tse for a lot of money. Nicky later tells him that Tse had been set to pick 55 from the moment he arrived, with small, subtle reminders all day long. Because of this win, Tse is so happy that he gives Nicky all of his money back.
Nicky tells the driver to take Jess to the airport after hearing about her cut. He gets into another waiting car while she cries as her limo drives off.
After three years, Nicky moves to Buenos Aires to work for Rafael Garriga, the owner of a very wealthy racing team. Garriga wants to beat McEwen's team in the championship, so Nicky will pretend to be a technician on Garriga's team who is unhappy and wants to sell his special fuel using algorithm EXR. He will instead sell McEwen a fake one that will make their car go slower. Nicky meets Jess, who is now with Garriga, at a party before the race. Nicky fakes being drunk when he sees Jess and then has a believable public fight with Garriga. After getting kicked out, McEwen asks him to provide the component.
Nicky starts to pursue Jess again, and in the end, they get back together. Owens, who is in charge of Garriga's security detail, is suspicious and almost catches them together. Nicky not only gives McEwen the real part for three million euros, but he also sells it to other teams for the same amount.
Nicky and Jess are caught by Garriga's men before they can get back to the US together. Nicky is being hit while Jess is tied up and her mouth is taped shut. Garriga starts to choke her because she is sure that she helped Nicky get into EXR. Nicky tells Jess that he lied to her and made her think he still liked her, and that the necklace he gave her secretly recorded Garriga's password and login information. Jess was tricked and didn't know it. She then says that she wasn't really close to Garriga for Nicky's story to be true; she was just trying to get close enough to him to steal his valuable watch.
Nicky then says he will tell the truth to save Jess's life, but Owens shoots him in the chest, which makes Garriga leave in shock. Owens then reveals that he is Bucky and tells Jess that he used the "Toledo Panic Button" to avoid hitting any major arteries. So Nicky can breathe, he then tapes up his cuts and uses a syringe to draw extra blood from his lung. They get out of the garage in Garriga's car.
Nicky has a damaged lung, so Bucky drives her and Jess to the hospital. Before he leaves them, he tells them why he left him on the streets: he was pulled over for poker in Boston, and all he could think about was Nicky. After that, he left and never came back.
After making it clear that love will get you killed in the game, Bucky leaves with all the money to tell you what will happen if you lose focus. Nicky sees that Jess stole Garriga's $200,000 watch after he leaves, and he and Jess walk towards the hospital door while Nicky smiles.
